My daughter's birthday is almost here, and as always she has started celebrating early and with some advance notice. We took last weekend to visit places where she had been when she was younger, so we started with the province of Artemisa, towards the west of the island and visited its orchid garden and the Las Terrazas nature reserve. The next day we went east, to Varadero beach in the province of Matanzas, but first we entered the Bellamar Caves and the Saturno Cave...two places with a lot of magic and some things to tell in future personal blogs. The thing is that we arrived at the beach almost at 5 in the afternoon, the wind and waves were unbearable and uncomfortable to enjoy a swim. Although we considered ourselves satisfied with the great walk through the caves, we had to experience some salt water and sand! So my daughter went into the sea for a few minutes and I took advantage of a few seconds to capture her in her battle against the waves that reached her exhausted and the relentless wind.
Mi hija casi está de cumpleaños, y como siempre ha comenzado a festejar desde temprano y con cierta antelación. Tomamos el fin de semana pasado para visitar lugares donde ella había estado cuando era más pequeña, así que comenzamos con la provincia de Artemisa, hacia el oeste de la isla y visitamos su orquideario y la reserva natural de Las Terrazas. Al siguiente día fuimos hacia el este, a la playa de Varadero en la provincia de Matanzas, pero antes entramos en las Cuevas de Bellamar y a la Cueva de Saturno...dos lugares con mucha magia y algunas cosas que contar en próximos blogs personales. La cosa es que llegamos a la playa casi a las 5 de la tarde, el viento y el oleaje eran insoportables e incómodos para disfrutar de un baño. Aunque nos consideramos satisfechos por el gran paseo por las cuevas, algo de agua salada y arena teníamos que experimentar! Así que mi hija se metió al mar algunos minutos y yo aproveché algunos segundos para capturarla en su batalla contra las olas que le llegaban exhaustas y el viento implacable.
