Hello everyone, this time I will be participating in this Splinterlands Challenge, where I will be showing you a battle in the modern ranked league, one of which, the Explosive Weaponry modifer will be active, so all units will have the Blast ability, allowing them to deal additional damage to units adjacent to the target they attack.
The protagonist of this battle, as you already know from the title of this post, is none other than Venka the Vile, an incredible neutral legendary creature, who has an amazing attack power of 7, one of the only 5 melee units in the modern ranked league that has this attack power. And when the Chaos Legion set moves to wild format on May 13th, only Venka, Heloise the Hollow (lvl 1 or lvl 2) and Gorth (gladius unit) will be playable, of course, there will be other new creatures that will have such power, I wonder how many of them there will be.
Venka starts with a melee attack power of 4, 3 speed and 5 health. And 2 abilities, Charge (allows her to attack from any position) and Piercing (if Venka's attack power exceeds the target's armor, the remaining damage is dealt to the target's health).
At level 2, Venka gains +1 melee attack power and health. And she gains the Oppress ability, which allows her to deal double damage to non-attacking enemy units and those that are trained with Weapons Training.
At level 3, gain +1 melee attack power and speed. And at level 4, Venga reaches a melee attack power of 7 and speed of 5. Additionally, she gains the Trample ability, so if Venka destroys a unit, she will perform another attack on the unit in the next position.
At the time of writing this post, a lvl 1 Venka costs $23.00, and a max level costs $250.00.

BATTLE
There are three modifiers active this time. The first is the Explosive Weaponry modifier, as I mentioned at the beggining, all units will have the Blast ability. The second one is the Target Practice modifier, so all ranged and magic units will gain the Snipe ability, forcing them to attack the first non-melee enemy unit that is not in the first position. And the third is the Fire & Regret modifer, so all ranged units will receive 50% of the damage they dealt after attacking.
By the way, I'm playing with my account: langice. I decided to choose Eternal Tofu, so all my units will have +2 health, the thorns ability, which allows them to deal 2 physical damage to melee enemy units that attack them. And also my units will have the snare ability, 100% hit on flying units and will remove the flying of the enemies. Additionally, I opted for the left-tactic of Tofu, which gives three of my units the Divine Shield and Corrosive Ward abilities.
In the first position, Halfling Refugee, currently the best 1 mana unit, who is able to heal himself unless his Weary ability triggers, preventing him from making any movements.
Next up is Pelacor Conjurer, who cannot attack, and will take damage from the blast effect. But that's okay since he has 10 health and can reflect half of the magic damage that enemy units will deal to him.
Then, Venari Marksrat in the third position, who when defeated, will give +1 to all stats of adjacent allies. In the next position is Time Mage, who will reduce the speed of enemy units by 1, and reduce the armor of the enemies by 2, while she is alive.
Venka the Vile will be in the fifth position, in a safe position to attack without problems.
And my last unit will be Venari Crystalsmith, who will heal my frontline unit for a third of its max health each turn. Additionally, this creature can remove the positive buffs of the enemy it attacks.
The enemy Drybone Bowdog attacked in round zero or better known as the Ambush round because of its Ambush ability, but took more damage than my units thanks to the Return Fire ability.
In the first round, the enemy Delya attacks and defeats Venari Marksrat, therefore my Time Mage takes 2 damage due to the Blast ability and is also defeated. So, Venka and Pelacor received the martyr buff thanks to my Marksrat when it is defeated, gaining +1 to all their stats. Then, Drybone Bowdog is defeated by the return fire damage.
After that, Venka attacks and destroys the enemy Halfling Refugee, and thanks to the blast damage, Nimbledook Scout is also defeated. Venka's trample ability triggers, allowing her to perform another attack, this time destroying Moxian Revel and Scavo Chemist. Finally, my Halfling Refugee finishes the battle by defeating Delya.
This is my first high level battle where I performed a FTK (first turn kill), it was really amazing, I didn't expect it.
It wouldn't have been possible if Venka hadn't gained +1 melee attack power thanks to Venari Marksrat's Martyr ability. Also, I have to give credit to the enemy Delya, as with her attack power of 4, my Time Mage was defeated along with Marksrat, so Venka received the martyr buff.
Even though Venka didn't destroy all the enemy units by himself, but instead received help from Halfling Refugee, it was still an amazing FTK.
That's all for now guys, if you haven't played Splinterlands yet, you can join with my referral link. See you on the battlefield!
