The Perfect Storm

Greetings everyone and welcome to another Splinterlands post. This week we are going to talk and reflect upon a perfect brawl run. Are new cards relevant for brawling? Will the first Splinterlands sets always be the strongest in the "wild" frays? Or will it be "Untames goes brrrrrr" for the rest of time?

If you are curious and want to view all nine of these battles I provide the links here, here, here, and here and the rest the opponents didn't fill the fray and were free dubs. In the past I would analyze each battle but since there isn't much that is a change on existing battle strategies I've posted about etc. I didn't bother to do so this time.

Without further or do let's get into it.

Overall Battle Summary

This week I ended up going 9/0 using mostly cards from the untamed set in tandem with gladiator cards. I realize I am a veteran of this game but brawling recently has felt like taking candy from a baby. Untamed is still the strongest set by far for the lower league wild frays. Yodin Zaku and Scarred Llama mage carry almost any lineup you put them in (if you at least consider basice Splinterlands strategy of course). None the less I still felt proud of this accomplishment considering I haven't really been playing Splinterlands that actively for many months and only recently have gotten back into it.

I don't think I'll be getting many cards from these recent sets, they didn't add races to older cards like "Goblin archer" and "Goblin mech" despite those cards obviously being goblins. The "Minotaur" tag to cards that quite literally have minotaur in their name like "Charlok Minotaur" and many more examples. There is no reason not to do this, they have updated cards after printing them before like the infamous "Nightmare" patch. Quite dissapointing, and for that reason I will likely not be attempting to collect the majority of cards from this set. They aren't relevant in Survival mode, the brawls, and modern is only a temporary moving goalpost at best. Wild is a botfest you pay a ticket to enter and the reason I stopped playing in the first place, Survival brought me back. Now that survival is down again for an indeterminable amount of time I may gravitate towards taking a break, but I may establish a guild before I go back into semi-retirement.

Talking Tidbits: Guild Thoughts

With land changing into a "milk the whales even harder" endeavor I believe I will be shifting my time effort and money into other Splinterlands ventures. Specifically, I would like to start my own independent guild utilizing the @cryptoniusraptor account and ideally have it be an onboarding guild ran by yours truly. Splinterlands has a fun gameplay loop (for web3 at least) and it would be nice to actually have a place to guarantee a position for people if the game becomes popular again. Nothing against Team Possible or PIZZA, they are great guild options to join, I just would like to have complete control and autonomy as some of the folks onboarded might be people I know personally and wouldn't want them to "call HIVE like it is" or anything that might get those guild networks in trouble. My onboardees my responsibility, we all know HIVE is mostly who you know and staying under the radar. It's not actually about progressing the chain or being a firebrand. Keep your head down and post general interest content or get zeroed out and pushed off the platform if the wrong person doesn't like what you say. I have a bit of a post coming about those topics and more, but it's a bit of a rant that has to be perfectly executed to not push MYSELF off of HIVE so it's taken a while to get together. Anywho, this post is mostly be celebrating a perfect brawl run with some reflections and thoughts on the subject. Cheers everyone, you all rock. Thanks for the continued support, you all are the reason HIVE is great. See you in the Splinterlands Battlemages.
