Today I decided to do something different. I'm not saying I'm going to do something I've never done before, because most likely it's not the first time, but it's not a regular thing either. It's going to be fun, so come with me, let's see what I want to show you today.
You know I'm back to visiting art exhibitions and have been posting about each exhibition I have visited, but I usually post the photos in the order in which they were taken and this is why in one post you may see only photos of paintings, or textile art or photos of photos and so on. Sometimes these are photos of artworks from the same artist and sometimes there are from more artists, depending on the exhibition.
This changes today as I decided to pick one photo from each exhibition (that has not been posted yet, obviously) and show you a good mix of art and style, to see which one you like. It's an experiment for now. Let's see how it goes.
Evelin Demeter - Water Lily
This dress may seem odd in this post, as I said I'm going to pot art, but trust me, this is art. I took this photo at the textile art exhibition. At the time of my visit, there was an old gentleman present and was telling the gallery lady that what was missing this year was the dresses. Indeed, this year there was only this dress and two more (sort of) at the top level. Last year there were three if I remember correctly and were more closer to traditional folk costumes. This is a modern creation you can wear for certain occasions.
Anna Szotyory
I took this photo this year, it was a solo exhibition of the artist and this painting has no title. It's a still life that takes you back in the 20th century in my opinion and for me it symbolizes calmness. It is from those times when there was no internet and life was not a constant rush. You went home from work, took care of chores, then made a coffee or a tea, took a book and read in silence for an hour. Those times are long gone, there's no time to read anymore. I've checked and the artist lady was born in 1930, so I was right.
Sarolta Puskai - Save Us, Our Lamb
Going through my folders, I am realizing how many photos are not posted yet. This was an exhibition I visited in May this year. This is a bit funny, because in real life, the lamb needs saving, from humans, but here it is vice versa. I think this was print on paper, but I'm not 100% sure.
Bercsi Gábor - Winter In Kál
This was a solo exhibition of the author and was full of wonderful photos, focusing exclusively on nature. I love these scenes, it gives me some sense of calmness, and the photographer also says, that winters are quiet there.
Károly Bálint - Anna
At first glance seems a little girl, but based on her eyes, I think it's a woman. It's a minimalist sculpture, but most likely looks like Anna, whoever she might be.
László Hunyadi - Pentaton
Penta means five, but what pentaton means ... I don't really know. If you count those side elements, there are 5 on each side ... and there's this as well:
A pentatonic scale is a musical scale with five notes per octave, in contrast to heptatonic scales, which have seven notes per octave (such as the major scale and minor scale). source
Tagging @mipiano here, although I don't think this is about the pentatonic scale, but who knows. She has complained about the piano key not being present on the canvases at the last exhibition I posted about 😜
Attila Pokornyi - Patchwork
Maybe patchwork is not the best word here, but I can't find a better one. This is basically a metal artwork, symbolizing the lose stitches you have, when you're trying to put together a dress, before sewing it.
Károly Bálint - Dream
This is a metal plate, copper I think, or something similar, that looks like copper and it is full of emotions.
Rozália Kozma - Between Dimensions
This is a woven piece, similar to some retro carpet, pretty colorful too.
Levente Herman - Alex
I'll let you say what you think about this. What do you see here? What do you think it means? What was the artist's goal in creating this creature?
Ok, this is it for today. I tried to select different artworks, let's see if you like any of it. Let me know in a comment.
