About an hour ago, I was thinking about today's contest topic and I was trying to put some points together in my head when I realized just how unhealthy my environment actually is. It's so bad that I ended up deciding not to write on the topic, at least not today.

You see, to get a better idea of the topic, I had gone ahead to search what an healthy environment is and what an unhealthy one is too. Sadly I found myself ticking the boxes of the unhealthy ones because almost all of the things I saw online are currently present here.

Environment with poor waste management, noise pollution, poor air quality, etc..all of these things are things I've come to grow up with ever since I was a little boy. The sad thing about that though, is that when you live with something long enough, you tend to not see the problem with it anymore because you've gotten so used to it and it's now a part of you, a part of your life.

A good example of what I'm saying is the noise pollution and poor air quality. It is no news that my country sucks when it comes to having steady power supply, so if there's something almost every one has in their various homes and shops over here, it is a fuel-powered generator, which also is a source for poor air and noise pollution.

As a matter of fact, the only time you can probably have some peace and quiet, and properly not have to shout everytime you're having a conversation with someone, is late at night, some time around eleven..because that is the time when the shops around here closes for the night and they finally turn off their generators that has been on since morning.

The crazy thing is that during the day, we usually do not notice the noise until later in the night when they turn it off. This is because during the day, our body tend to adjust/adapt with the environment and its noise, that we don't even realize anymore that something somewhere is disturbing the peace in the environment.

Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about it as these people do have to carry on with their businesses. Also, there's no one complaining, even though we should if we even care a little bit about our health.
