They deserve the best for their love, effort, and dedication. This special day fills me with enthusiasm because I love doing little things that come from the love I have for them.
I want to tell you that I spent all Saturday completely devoted to the preparations for this special Sunday. From finishing the gifts to getting creative with the sweets and food, it was a very busy day, but also very satisfying. I got up early, focused on making everything look beautiful and taste delicious.
In the morning, I went out with my husband. The night before, he had mentioned, half-jokingly and half-seriously, that he wanted an oil change for the car as a Father's Day gift. We took advantage of the fact that it was Saturday, although we knew that many places are not open all day, so we decided to leave early to fulfill his wish without rushing.
We went straight to “Autopartes Rois,” a trusted business we often go to because they have always treated us kindly, offered quality products, and had good prices. We feel at home every time we go there. While we waited, we chatted for a while, and my husband even helped the manager change the oil. When it comes to the car, he always has to get involved; it makes him feel good.

Ellos merecen lo mejor por su amor, esfuerzo y dedicación. Esta fecha especial me llena de entusiasmo, porque me encanta tener detalles que nacen del cariño que les tengo.
Quiero contarles que pasé todo el sábado entregada por completo a los preparativos para este domingo tan especial. Desde terminar los regalos hasta ponerme creativa con los dulces y las comidas, fue una dia bastante activo, pero también muy satisfactoria. Me levanté temprano, con la energía puesta en que todo quedara bonito y rico.
Por la mañana salí con mi esposo. La noche anterior él me había comentado, medio en broma y medio en serio, que quería como regalo del Día del Padre el cambio de aceite del carro. Aprovechamos que era sábado, aunque sabíamos que muchos sitios no abren todo el día, así que decidimos salir temprano para cumplir con su deseo sin apuros.
Fuimos directo a “Autopartes Rois”, un negocio de confianza al que vamos seguido porque siempre nos han ofrecido un trato amable, productos de calidad y buenos precios. Nos sentimos como en casa cada vez que vamos. Mientras esperábamos, compartimos un rato conversando y mi esposo incluso ayudó al encargado a colocar el aceite. Cuando se trata del carro siempre tiene que meter su mano, eso lo hace sentirse bien.
When I got home, I got to work with our son. We carefully wrapped the gifts. We bought my dad a very nice wallet that we know he will like. We also prepared a measuring jug that my husband needed for his painting projects. Since he is a die-hard fan of sweets, we decided to fill it with his favorite treats. Just imagining his face when he saw it overflowing with candies and chocolates made us feel that the effort was worth it. He doesn't like to drink, but he loves sweets.
Al regresar a casa, me puse manos a la obra con nuestro hijo. Nos dedicamos a envolver con mucho esmero los regalos. Le compramos a mi papá una billetera muy bonita que sabemos que le gustará. También preparamos una jarra medidora que mi esposo necesitaba para sus tareas de pintura. Como él es fanático empedernido de los dulces, decidimos llenársela de sus golosinas favoritas. Solo con imaginar su cara al verla rebosante de caramelos y chocolates, ya sentíamos que el esfuerzo valía la pena, a él no le gusta beber pero si le encantan los dulces.
Once the gifts were wrapped and their respective cards filled with kind words, I began making the sweets. I decided to prepare some mini doughnuts using a homemade recipe that included rice cream, a little oil, and milk, with that touch of vanilla that makes everything more special. The mixture turned out great, and they cooked quickly, almost as if I had used wheat flour. In the end, I covered them with melted chocolate and a little shredded coconut on top. They turned out spectacular! Finger-licking good, honestly.
Una vez envueltos los obsequios y con sus respectivas postales llenas de palabras bonitas, comencé a hacer los dulces. Me animé a preparar unas mini rosquillas con una receta casera que llevaba crema de arroz, un poco de aceite y leche, con ese toque de vainilla que lo hace todo más especial. La mezcla quedó estupenda, y se cocinaron rápido, casi igual que si hubiera usado harina de trigo. Al final, las cubrí con chocolate derretido y un poco de coco rallado por encima. ¡Quedaron espectaculares! Para chuparse los dedos, sinceramente.
When I finished with the sweets, I still had enough energy left to marinate the meat we would use on Sunday. I left everything well organized, even the kitchen utensils, so that everything would flow smoothly the next day. My intention was also to enjoy myself with them, without running around from one place to another. Because beyond the material things, this day is about sharing, laughing, giving thanks, and celebrating as a family.

Cuando terminé con los dulces, aún me quedó energía para adobar la carne que usaríamos el domingo. Dejé todo bien organizado, hasta los utensilios de cocina, para que al día siguiente todo fluyera con calma. Mi intención era también disfrutar junto a ellos, sin estar corriendo de un lado a otro. Porque más allá de lo material, este día se trata de compartir, de reír, de agradecer y de celebrar en familia.
