If you have been looking at the crypto charts and numbers there is red all around. BTC is down and so is ETH and the altcoin basket.

Get your crypto onto Hive
Once you have an hive account there are plenty of ways to get your existing crypto onto the Hive blockchain. One of the ways is to use the hive- engine.
For this head on to https://hive-engine.com/@youraccount//wallet (here youraccount is to be replaced with your hive username)
Under the wallet section click on the deposit section.
From the drop down list pick the coin or token you want to deposit. From BTC, ETH, SOL, or any other asset available from the list.
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the deposit.
Depending upon the network speed of the asset it may take some time for the asset to appear under your wallet.
What you would see under your hive-engine wallet would be the pegged version of the asset and show as swap.btc, swap.eth etc corresponding to the asset that you have deposited.

If you click on the swap button
Suppose you deposited BTC which now shows as swap.btc under your account.
You can select that and choose swap.hbd as the pair you want to swap to.
Follow the instructions on screen to complete the swap.
Once the swap is complete you would get the equivalent amount of swap.hbd
Please note that in order to earn the 15% APR (Dynamic and can change over time) you need to convert the swap.HBD to HBD
For this we use the service of https://hbd.uswap.app/
Enter your hive username and sign in if you are not already signed in.
From the follow interface you can see the swap. hbd you have in your account after being signed in.
Click the swap button and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the swap.hbd to HBD swap process.
After a while you would be able to see the swapped HBD under your Hive account wallet.
For convenience I am using the hive keychain.

To move your HBD into savings click click on the Savings button and enter the number of HBD you want to move to your savings.
The amount you put into savings does not leave your wallet. Instead it remains locked in your wallet itself and earns you HBD rewards @15% APR
To remove the amount from savings select the withdraw option.
Please note that once you initiate a withdraw request for the funds in your "HBD SAVING", there is a 5 day cooldown period after which these HBD's appear as liquid HBD in your wallet.
This lock and cooldown period is only for the HBD that are in your savings.
The other HBD can be moved anytime and that too any fee for moving between accounts that too at super fast speed.
