Namaste to all fellow players of Splinterlands!
This week's Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge is about Powerful Combos. The combinations that we use perform best with our strategies. This is a good topic because we can all learn something by reading about each other's powerful combos and their pros and cons.
Splinterlands has changed a lot since the release of the new Conclave Arcana set, and old strategies have also undergone major changes as Splinterlands has not only introduced great new cards but also new abilities, making winning strategy with these new cards and abilities more challenging and exciting than ever before.
Building smart game-winning strategies with powerful combos!
Since last season, I have rented some of the new cards from the Conclave Arcana set, as per my strategy of testing first and then buying, and they have performed really well. But currently, I don't own any Conclave Arcana cards, but I have some Gladiator cards, so most of my strategies are based on my owned cards only. It is true that after understanding the new set of cards and abilities, there have been major changes in the strategies as well. The only way I know to create a game-winning strategy with powerful combos is to practice as much as possible with powerful cards that suit your battle style. In a real battlefield, mana, rulesets, or other conditions keep changing, which makes any strategy you make a good test, and then you can rely on it. But for that also it is also necessary to have a basic understanding of cards and rulesets; otherwise, even with a good strategy, you will not be able to do much because the conditions of the battlefield in Splinterlands keep changing constantly.
My Powerful Combos!
Apart from understanding the ruleset and planning before the battle, I try to include cards with better attack power, some ability to increase the attack power in some way, extra shields for the whole team and if possible, healing ability in the team. Although it is not possible to keep all these things in mind in every battle, but in the past few times, by keeping some of these important points in mind, I have made a good team and won many battles. These combos are not made with any specific attack ability. I can make a powerful combo with melee cards in different situations, and also with range and magic cards. Today, I will tell you about a battle of this combo made with melee attackers in which I used Archaon from the new Conclave Arcana set.
Here is the battle!
Here you can see the scene before the start of one of my battles this afternoon. The opponent's team is also not less powerful; in fact, the opponent is more powerful in terms of attacking capability. In this battle, the selection of the summoner was not in my hands; otherwise, I would have chosen a summoner who gives some kind of shield or additional attacking power to the team. Although this summoner also gives deflection ability to the team, but due to the ruleset in this battle, the deflection ability was default and hence I focused on making a powerful team and gave place to 2 above average melee attackers in the front row, right after which a magic attacker who gives +1 melee power to allied cards, apart from this, I also gave place to a protector in the team who gave +2 armor to all allied cards. In this, I would have given place to one more powerful magic card, but I did not have any other options for this battle.
Here is the battlefield after Summoner and other cards distribute powers to the teams. You can see that despite being weaker than the enemy in terms of attacking power, we are now quite equal, and my team seems to be more protected in terms of shields. This strategy can be problematic if the opponent has a counter to melee attackers like Thorns. However, in this particular battle, Thorns does not work due to the ruleset. Also, if the opponent has heavy magic attackers, in that case my shields will be completely wasted, and every attack of the enemy will cause great damage to my team, and I saw something similar in this battle as well because the opponent had a heavy magic attacker but it also had its own challenges.
This is the effect of that big flaw that one of my cards got knocked out in the first round itself, but this is just the beginning of the battle, and you will see that with each passing round, the enemy will get weaker, and I will win this battle quite comfortably.
To enjoy the entire battle, here is the link to the battle. But it is important to talk about this powerful combo. Since melee attacks played a major role in this battle, I have already told you its cons, but suppose I had included range attacks in the team instead of melee, then first of all I would have focused on making my attackers more powerful through the ability of my summoner or any other card and after that I would have worked on protecting the entire team or those main attackers with other powerful cards because protection is an important part of my strategy and combo because for the best performance of this powerful combo, heavy attacking ability and shield + healing must work together.
So, in short, my powerful combo must have heavy attackers with additional attacking power and shield or healing. If I have to team up with ranged attackers, then I choose Prophet Rosa as a summoner, and if I have to team up with melee attackers, then I choose Underboss Fabino. These are the available cards in my deck; otherwise, you can see many other options in place of these. So, how did you like my powerful combo and my strategy?
